A joint Teacher Education and Masters of Educational Technology project to enhance the digital competencies of both Teacher Candidates in their 11-month intensive Bachelor of Education program and Masters of Educational Technology students engaged in the MET program, a fully online Masters Program in the Faculty of Education, begins in June 2018. To this end, a worklearn student was hired for 10 hours per week May – August, 2018.

Mary Kostandy (PHD student, EDST, and former 2016-2017 TLEF GAA) in collaboration with Erica Hargreave, MET Program GAA, and under the supervision of Yvonne Dawydiak, Faculty-wide Programs Instructional Specialist, will work to support students in accessing, evaluating and integrating digital technologies and critical digital and media literacies into their respective learning and professional contexts.
The project will evolve over time and will include the development and sharing of digital resources on a WordPress website and the collection of resources developed by MET and BEd students willing to share them as Open Educational Resources via the Scarfe Digital Sandbox and the MET Community. The team will also help develop, implement and analyze surveys and other data collection measures to gauge efficacy of this pilot project.
